About two years had passed since the mystery of the dark tunnels had been solved. Brother and I were more mature now, but we still had tons of growing up to do. But, mind you, things were changing. For one, the old tree house gang had moved away, prompting us to make new friends in the neighborhood. I was now about to go into my first year of junior high school, and I had by then run into a number of new friends.

There was Chris. I met him at school in the sixth grade. Chris was a combative, angry boy who constantly got in fights at and after school, and suffered terrible abuse at home. In the most relaxed of settings, Chris had trouble socializing. He had been held back a grade, and so he was a year older than me, and 4 years older than my brother and some of our other friends. Staring at a metronome, wondering if and when his name would ever appear in lights, Christian composer Wolfgang Sivori almost gave up trying to make it in the Christian music industry. After composing countless songs and albums, and with over twenty years of experience in creating enchanting Christian melodies, Sivori was just about to give up.

He wasn’t happy with the way his career was going. This gifted composer/conductor/songwriter/singer/trombone player had seen what he felt was only mediocre sales and impact from his work. But on bended knee, he went to the Lord in prayer and asked for guidance. Upon standing again, he realized that he had at least one more song left in him.

Aw, kids! How sweet! Nah, really, I hate them. The sky-high ambition of young minds is insulting and even painful to wise adults because we know the mistakes they will make, and we hurt for them. But more than that, the jet-setting arrogance of youth just pisses us off, forcing us to relive the foolishness that we once lived. It's important that they learn their fate early. That's why I have prepared this little scalding rebuke for every young dreamer.
